David Paul Schnopp,
79, of Bruceton Mills, WV, passed away quietly, Sunday, April 15, 2018, in his home surrounded by his devoted and loving family after a long, courageous battle from complications of prostate cancer.
The son of the late Robert Floyd and Allie Mae Sisler Schnopp, he was born a seven-month, premature twin, on December 3, 1938, on a farm, in Hazelton, WV.
At the age of 13, on July 21, 1951, he was baptized into the Church of the Brethren.  David was a 1957 graduate of Bruceton High School, joined the U.S. Army in 1959, and was in the U.S. Army Reserves until he was honorably discharged in 1966.  He belonged to the Morgantown Carpenters Local #604 and received his 50-year pin in 2016, holding the office of financial secretary in the union for over 20 years. Earlier in his life, he was active in the Bruceton-Brandonville VFD and the Bruceton Community Ambulance Service. He was also a member of Woodmen of the World Lodge #226 and attended Pisgah United Methodist Church, where he was married nearly 55 years ago. David was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting with his sons, and he loved mowing grass with his John Deere. With a smile on his face, David knew no stranger, and he always had a joke or story to share.

He is also survived by five children:  Kevin David Schnopp and companion, Heidi Sypult, of Morgantown, Brian Douglas Schnopp, and wife, Monica Loya, of Morgantown, Allen Lee Schnopp of Bruceton Mills, Kimberly Joan Schnopp Martin and husband, Bradley, of Kingwood, and  Jason Scott Schnopp and wife, Marijke Child, of Bruceton Mills; nine grandchildren: Grant and Rayna Schnopp, Tyler, Gavin, and Bryson Martin, and Easton, Paisley, Fisher, and Sawyer Schnopp; three bonus grandchildren: Kortnie, Joshua, and Jasmine Donaway, and her daughter, Vada; a sister, Hazel Spiker, of Bruceton Mills; a brother and his wife, Samuel Dwight and Sandra Schnopp, of Morgantown; a sister-in-law and her husband, Linda and Carter Crowe, of Pisgah; two brothers-in-law:  Albert Lewis and wife, Sheryl, of Indiana, and Tim Lewis of Morgantown; and several nephews and nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his premature infant twin sister, Edna Faye Schnopp; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Russell, and Mary Lou Lewis; and brother-in-law, Stanley Ray Spiker.
