Obituary of Harry Lewis

Harry O. Lewis,

75, of Tunnelton, WV, formerly of Bruceton Mills, WV, passed away, Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at his home.

The son of the late Rev. Joseph A. and Ruth Nottingham Lewis, he was born February 6, 1942, in Grantsville, MD.

He was a Korean Conflict Veteran of U.S. Army, He worked as a farmhand, milking cows, for Break O'Dawn Dairy and for Thomas Brothers for 40 plus years. Harry enjoyed umpiring softball and baseball games, watching his favorite sports and had a love for Keno scratch tickets.

Harry is survived by three sons: Joseph A. Lewis and his wife, Amy, Harry O. Lewis, Jr., and James E. Lewis; two daughters, Tina Humphries and husband, Mark and Heather and husband, Rodney Pifer; grandchildren: Hunter, Dawson, Jaxson and Eliana Lewis, Stephanie, and Marcus Humphries, Trenton Lewis and Cody Pifer, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby and Glenn Lewis.

Family and friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, WV, Sunday, from 3 until 7 p.m., and Monday, February 20, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. service in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Charles Teets officiating. Burial will follow in the Grantsville Cemetery, Grantsville, MD.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Hospice Care.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial contributions be made in Harry's memory to Joe A. Lewis, 24264 North Preston Highway, Bruceton Mills, WV 26525.
