THELMA M. BENSON, 92, of Bruceton Mills, WV, passed away Monday, April 18, 2016, at Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, WV. The daughter of the late Benjamin A. and Georgia E. Frankhouser Liston, she was born April 9, 1924, in Valley Point, WV. Thelma is survived by two sons and their spouses, Ricky and Wendi Benson and Gary and Becky Benson of Bruceton Mills; a brother, Junior Liston, of Kingwood; three grandchildren and their spouses: Melanie and Jeff Teets, Brittany and Brian Michael, and Scot and Nicole Benson; seven great grandchildren: Jessica Coole and her husband, Shane, Jacob and Catherine Teets, Jude and Noah Benson, Luke Benson and Benjamin Michael; and a great-great granddaughter, Surra Coole. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin W. Benson; two sisters, Martha Frowen and Elda Teets; an infant brother and sister, Norman and Norma Liston; and a sister-in-law, Sarah Liston. To honor Thelma's request, cremation services have been provided, and a memorial service will be held at the North Preston Senior Center in Bruceton Mills at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 10, 2016. Carl R. Spear Funeral Home, Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, WV, will be assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.spearfuneralhome.net.
