Obituary of Janet Gail Summers

Janet “Mammy” Gail Summers, 83, of Bruceton Mills, WV, passed away with family by her side on Thursday, March 6, 2025. The daughter of the late Benjamin and Rosa Pearl Fike Benson, she was born on December 11, 1941. Janet was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Janet loved gardening and growing flowers and spent hours working on puzzles. Most of all, she loved visiting with friends and family—whether it was stopping at their house or at her daily visit to Little Sandy’s for her morning coffee. Janet never met a stranger and was blessed with the gift of gab. She is survived by a son, Kenny Summers, of Bruceton Mills; three daughters: Kathy (Bryon) Moats of Lenox, WV, Kelly Summers (Kenny Nuce) of Bruceton Mills, and Kim (Brian) Feather of Albright, WV; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Delbert Summers; son, Richard Keith Summers; daughter, Karen Summers; grandson, Richard Summers; and great grandson, Christian Albarran. Family and family may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, WV, on Saturday, March 8, from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., and on Sunday, March 9, 2025, from 12:00 until the 2:00 p.m. service with Pastor Ray Frankhouser officiating.
