Obituary of Ray Sell

Gilbert Ray Sell, 85, of Ralph Livengood Road, Albright, WV, passed away in his home on July 18, 2025. The son of the late Daniel and Gracie Dixon Sell, he was born January 11, 1940, in Albright (Lenox), WV. Ray was employed at Shadow Bronze and was a coal miner. He is survived by his wife, Wila Dean Sell; four sons: Steven, Brian, and Rodney, of Valley Point, and Sidney Sell of Morgantown, WV; a brother, Richard Sell, of Nashville, TN; and a sister, Bernice Cannon of Lenox. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters: Mary Ethel Reckart, Barbara Cosner and Louise Lehew and seven brothers: Charles, Sherman, Kenneth, Wesley, Glenn, Larry, and Elmer;and one great grandchild. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, WV, Tuesday, July 22, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. until the 1:00 P.M. funeral service with Pastor Joe Carpenter officiating.
