Gary Allen Matthews, Sr.,

     66, of Bruceton Mills, WV, died Tuesday, Mary 2, 2017, at the Uniontown Hospital, in Uniontown, PA.
     The son of the late Foster Ivan and Irene Phillippi Matthews, he was born February 1, 1951, in Confluence, PA.
     Gary had been employed at Sterling Faucet, the Department of Energy, and West Virginia University from where he retired after 25 years in maintenance.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
     He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann "Annie" Adams Matthews; three daughters and their spouses: Teresa and Shawn Cioffi of Troutman, NC, and Karen and Jeff Warsewich and Sharon and Mike Long of Bruceton Mills; a son, Gary Matthews, Jr. and his wife, Dee, of Bruceton Mills; a brother and his wife, Foster E. and Judy Matthews,  of Bruceton Mills; a sister and her husband, Bonnie and Benny White, of Bruceton Mills; eleven grandchildren: Nicole, Shayla, Kelsey, Nathaniel, Kyeton, Elijah, Avary, Braelynn, Jason, Miles and Rita; and five great-grandchildren: Kadence, Hunter, Cole, Payton and Oakley.
     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Homer and Joanne Richards Adams.
     Family and friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, WV, on Thursday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., and Friday, May 5, 2017, from 10  until the 11:00 a.m. service with Rev. Vicki D. Sheppard officiating.  Burial will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery, Bruceton Mills, WV.
