Obituary of Carolyn Sue Gillis

Carolyn Sue Gillis,
 
     75, of Morgantown, WV, was called to be with her Lord after a courageous battle with cancer on January 15, 2018, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown.
     The daughter of the late Chester H. and Bessie A. Richard Walls, she was born June 19, 1942, in Bruceton Mills (Valley Point), WV.
     Carolyn was a member, since 1977, of Calvary Baptist Church and was a 1960 graduate of Bruceton High School.  She enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren, as well as doing volunteer work for her community.
     She is survived by her husband, Ronald Gillis; two daughters and their spouses: Rhonda Kelley and Jimmy of Charleston, WV, and Stacy Rule and Mark of Pittsburgh, PA; two grandsons, Alex and Carson; a brother Billy Walls, of Albright; and several nieces and nephews.
     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Holbert and Dottie Wilhelm, and four brothers: Charles, Johnny, Glen, and Donald Walls.
     The family would like to express a special thank you to all their friends and to the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center.
     Family and friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, Thursday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.  A graveside service will be held Friday, January 19, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Morgantown, with Pastor Doug Strother officiating.
     The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, 519 Burroughs Street, Morgantown, WV  26505.
