Betty Cuppet Galloway,
88, of Bruceton Mills (Glade Farms Community), WV, died Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at her home.
The daughter of the late Patrick Henry and Carrie Etta Cuppet, she was born February 16, 1928, in Glade Farms. She was the last remaining member of the family.
Betty was an active member of Shady Grove Church of the Brethren and the Shady Grove Adult Sunday School Class. She was instrumental in many capital improvement projects in and around the church. She was a 1945 graduate of Bruceton High School. She married Ernest R. Galloway in 1946, and moved to Akron, OH, returning to Glade Farms in 1989. She worked as a clerk for A & P and K-Mart in Akron, OH.
She is survived by four children: Edwin Ray (Annette) of Rochester, NY, Susan Laru of Akron, OH, Patrick James (Carolyn) of Sparks, NV and Cynthia Jean (James) of Morgantown, WV; two grandsons, Steven (Rose) and Matthew (Amanda); and three great-granddaughters, Riley, Hope and Reece.
In addition to her parents and her loving husband Ernest, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Susan, Margaret and Helen; and four brothers, Robert, Ralph, Henry, Jr. and Carlos Ray.
Friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, Sunday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., and Monday, June 13, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service in the funeral home, with Rev. Barry M. Adkins officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Pisgah, WV.
