Obituary of Gerald Stockett
Gerald A. Stockett,
81, of Cheat Lake Community, Morgantown, WV, passed away Saturday, February 9, 2019, at his home, after a lengthy illness.
The son of the late William and Anna Blanche Benson Stockett, he was born October 15, 1937, in Pisgah (Preston County), WV.
A member of the Union Local 66-B, operating engineers, out of Pittsburgh, Gerald had been a heavy equipment operator for 61 years when he retired in 2000. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and watching NASCAR.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jean (Hoye) Stockett; a son and his wife, Bob and Vicki Stockett, of Morgantown; three grandchildren: Steven Stockett, Kristen Casteel and her husband, Adam, and Shannon Schifano and her husband,Troy; three great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and London Casteel and Gisella Schifano; three sisters: Lila Wright and her husband, Gary, Charlotte Butler, and Anita Wolfe and her husband, Mark; several nieces and nephews; a great niece and a great nephew; and a sister-in-law, Ruth McDowell.
Family and friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, WV, Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., and Wednesday, February 13, 2019, from 10 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service with Rev. Vicki D. Sheppard officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Bruceton Mills (Pisgah Community), WV.
