Sylvia Madeline Smith, 92, of Morgantown, WV, died Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at Pineridge in Kingwood, WV. The daughter of the late Arlie and Mary E. Reckart Liston, she was born January 5, 1924, in Albright, WV. Sylvia is survived by two daughters, Ruth Glover of Morgantown, WV, with whom she lived for over two years, and Jean Hart of Manassas, VA; six grandchildren: Tani Mellenger, Dreama Tennant, Todd Hart, Larry Hart, Misty Hurt, and Shane Glover; great-grandchildren: Holly Shenk, Krista Hart, Kali DeVincent and Corey Hurt; and two sisters, Helen Miller and Rose Ann Dunn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Larry Hardesty; two husbands, Lloyd Smith and Gettis Hardesty; three brothers: Elmer, Charles and Willis Liston; and two sisters, Maxine Miller and Hazel Iman. Family and friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, WV, Friday, July 8, 2016, from 11:00 A.M. until the 1:00 P.M. service in the funeral home, with Rev. Winfield Mayle officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Albright (Valley Point), WV.
