Obituary of J.G. Thomas

JUNIOR GLENN (J.G.) THOMAS, of Spring Hill, TN, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, TN at the age of 86. J.G. was born in Terra Alta, WV to Glenn G. & Pauline F. Thomas on July 14, 1934. He graduated from Philippi High School class of 1952. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1956. He served and retired as a deputy sheriff from the Barbour County Sheriff's Department. He loved football and the Mountaineers, He enjoyed working outside, and gardening. J.G. is survived by his 3 daughters: Pamela O'Neill (Dale) of Deltona, FL, Sandra Thomas of Columbia, TN, and Linda Good of Spring Hill, TN; 2 granddaughters, Kelly Defibaugh (Eric) of Deltona, FL, and Kathleen O'Neill of Sarasota, FL and 1 great-grandson Caden Defibaugh of Deltona, FL. He is preceded in death by his father, Glenn G. and mother, Pauline F. Thomas, and an infant son, Larry Michael Thomas. In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial contributions to be made to the BrightFocus Foundation for research in Alzheimer's disease, and Macular Degeneration and, to Alex's Lemonade Stand for childhood cancer research, or to your local Humane Society. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Salem Church of the Brethren in Bruceton Mills, WV on October 17, 2020 at 1 pm with Pastor Donnie Savage officiating. Burial will follow at Mt.
