Obituary of Stanley Ward Livengood

Please share a memory of Stanley to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Stanley Ward Livengood, Stanley Ward Livengood of Kingwood, WV died at home on December 12, 2020. He was born August 17, 1945 in Lenox, WV, the son of the late Ralph and Iva Dixon Livengood. Stanley is survived by his wife, Ella Lee Feather Livengood; Stan and Ella’s, sons and their wives, Stoney Lee and Stacy Benson Livengood and Ralph Scott and Holi Bolyard Livengood; and Stan’s daughter, Sally and her husband and child. Grandchildren include: Brody Lee Livengood, Abbie Livengood Funkhouser and husband Rob, McKenzie and Emma Livengood; and his great-grandson, Gage Funkhouser. He was loved and cherished by his wife, Ella, of 52 years, and his two sons. He was so enormously proud of his family. Stanley was a U.S. Army veteran, an auctioneer, horse breaker/trainer, union painter, carpenter, building construction contractor, company owner, State Highway Department worker, heavy equipment operator, and farmer. Stanley was a good man with a big heart. He loved life, Our Lord, Jesus, and his family. He was a truly knowledgeable and an intelligent man who with dignity and pride could handle any situation or a crowd. Stanley was gentle enough to feed a baby or change a diaper and tough enough to parachute from an airplane or swing a #18 post maul all day long. He had a great love for driving his truck and going for ice cream, pop, and candy. Stanley was a small-framed man with an enormous appetite. He enjoyed calling Lois and telling her, “I’ll be there in a half hour, if you are willing to make me a lemon pie.” Then we would go enjoy lemon pie and iced tea. He traveled to many states across the U.S.A., loved seeing new places, and making new friends. He had a very special love for Bill and Maxine, Fred and Mary, Bob, the Castros’, the Christopher’s, Elvon and Ann, Max and Linda, Robie, Richette, Trampas, Cody, Seeson, Jos, Bobby, Eugene, Jack and John, Sue Bev, Brad, Brian, Barry, T.R. and Jeff, Jody, Jeffrey and Jonna, Stan, Debbie, Philip, Tressa, his neighbors of many years, old and new, and all their families and so many more. You all know who you are and know how much you were loved by him. We will always miss the smiles and sunshine he brought into our lives. We will miss hearing his many handles: Stanley, Stan, SL, Sweetie, Neighbor, Baby Doll, Dad, Uncle, Cuz, Son, Stash Ukahanie, Ole Buddy, and Dear Friend. His wife, sons, his horses, cows, dogs, his work, his family and friends, and his dad were the loves of his life. There will be a private family graveside service at the Lutheran Family Cemetery in Lenox, WV, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your church, favorite charity, or to a child in need of a charitable act of kindness. The family welcomes condolences being left on the funeral home website. Cremation services will be provided by the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home, Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, WV. Condolences may be sent to the family at, spearfuneralhome.net.
