Mary Kathleen Dodge Evans, 79, of Bruceton Mills (Pisgah community), WV, departed from this world to join her family in Heaven on January 9, 2021. The daughter of the late Jacob Franklin and Edith Maude Dodge, she was born December 2, 1941, in Kingwood, WV. A member of the Cuzzart Wesleyan Church, Mary spent numerous years devoted to raising her children, caring for her grandchildren, and creating treasured memories with them. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and making her signature bread rolls for many. In 1979, recruited by her long-time friend and neighbor, Vernice Gribble, she began a career in Tupperware. During her time as a Tupperware Consultant, she made countless friends and advanced to become Executive Manager recruiting and training many other Tupperware salespeople for nearly 30 years. In addition, she worked for Kelly Services, Lifetime Cookware, and as a Child Advocate for West Virginia DHHR. Mary is survived by her husband, Walter, the love of her life with whom she celebrated their sixty- second wedding anniversary on October 30, 2020. She also is survived by her two sons and their spouses, Owen and Debbie Evans of Albright, WV, and Rodney and Kim Evans of Bruceton Mills; a daughter and her husband, Beverly and Jeffrey Stemple, of Bruceton Mills; two grandsons, Aaron Stemple (Kelsey) and Corey Evans; four granddaughters, Erica Evans Foley (Greg), Heather Evans Reed (Travis), Meredith Stemple Harteis (Jerrod), and Lyndsey Evans Reckart (Matthew); seven great-grandsons, Noah, Wyatt, and Andrew Foley, Lucas Reed, Noah Lipscomb, Mason Stemple and Hunter Reckart; five great-granddaughters, Jasmine and Leah Reed, and Aubrey, Cora, and Mattalyn Harteis; a brother and his wife, Eugene and Julie Dodge, of New York; a foster sister, Peggy Metheny, of Terra Alta, WV; and several brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her mother- and father-in-law, Quay and Opal Evans; a great-granddaughter, Millie Reed; two brothers and their wives: George and Coy Maxwell of Iowa Park, TX, and Orville and Elizabeth Dodge of Oakland, MD; one sister and her husband, Grace and Clarence Whetsel; three foster brothers, Chuck Myers, Kenny Myers, and Ralph Fortney; brother-in-law, Leon Evans; sister-in-law, Betty Kumbar; foster brother-in-law, Rev. Earnest Metheny, of Terra Alta, WV; and many friends. Mary was an inspiration to all whom she met and an honorable wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, friend, neighbor, and “Tupperware lady”. All of us are blessed to have been a part of her life. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and everyone who knew her. A private family Celebration of Life will be held at the Carl R.
