Obituary of Ralph D. Miller
Please share a memory of Ralph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ralph (Mickey) D. Miller,
76, of Albright, WV (Lenox community), passed away peacefully at his home, Monday, February 1, 2021, after a courageous battle with COPD.
The son of the late Ralph Delmas Miller and Murhl Jessie Engle Miller, he was born June 16, 1944, in Lenox, WV.
After more than 30 years, Mickey retired from Alban Tractor Company and worked in their Springfield and Manassas, VA, locations. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Later, he focused more on watching wildlife and spending time with his family, friends, and the household dogs.
Mickey is survived by his daughter, Patience, of Lenox; his grandson, the pride and joy of his life and namesake, Michael (Mickey) James Wilson, of Blacksburg, VA; his niece and her husband, Polly and Jim VanGilder, of Morgantown, WV; and several cousins and close friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife and lifelong partner of 47 years, Pamela Jean Miller; one sister and brother-in-law, Annabelle Blanche and Everett Glen Sell; and his infant niece, Belinda Yvonne Sell.
The family would like to convey special thanks and appreciation to Right at Home in Morgantown: April and Sherri for all they did to make continuous care available and particularly "TEAM RALPH" (Mike, Amber, Ryleigh, CiCi, Kevin, Justin, and Krissy) for their continuous care and compassion during Mickey's time at home. They have become and forever will be a special branch on our family tree.
Also, we would like to send special thanks to Ashley from WV Caring (Hospice) for her care and compassion and availability any time she was needed; Dr. Harned, Regis, and Lisa of Harned Memorial Medical Clinic; Shonda from Pro PT, all the doctors and nurses at Ruby Memorial Hospital; the staff at Encompass Health, especially Dr. Bharti, Jennifer Kunkle, and everyone in the physical therapy unit; and the entire staff at Mapleshire.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to WV Caring (Hospice) at P. O. Box 760, Arthurdale, WV 26520, or to the Preston County Animal Shelter at 278 Poor Farm Rd, Kingwood, WV 26537.
