Obituary of Dakota Kristian Roach

Please share a memory of Dakota to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dakota Kristian Roach, 24, of Bruceton Mills, WV, passed from this life on July 2, 2021. The son of Jaime R. and David L. Roach II, he was born September 9, 1996, in Morgantown, WV.  Dakota (Cody) was a 2015 graduate of Preston High School, where he enjoyed participating in the Madrigal Show Choir and the JROTC program. Dakota was highly competitive and rarely accepted finishing second well. He loved the arts and excelled at music, particularly the keyboard. Writing his own music was a passion of his. He always dreamed of being a performer and craved the spotlight. Literature was another passion, and he believed the pages of a book could transport him to places he might never go. Even as a little boy, he was opinionated and prepared to argue his point on religion with his Pap, family, or anyone who would take the time to discuss it with him.  In addition to his parents, Dakota is survived by his brother, Brayden Roach, at home; grandparents Robert and Joyce Shafer of Bruceton Mills, WV, and David and Pam Roach of Huntington, WV; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.  A private family viewing and cremation services are being provided by Carl R. Spear Funeral Home Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, WV. The family requests memorial contributions and condolences be sent to: www.spearfuneralhome.net.
