Obituary of Jeffrey Grant Metheny

Jeffrey Grant Metheny, 44, of Bruceton Mills, (Glade Farms community), WV, died October 1, 2021, at his home. The son of Glen and Robin Wotring Metheny of Bruceton Mills, he was born July 7, 1977, in Morgantown, WV. Jeff was a graduate of University High School, and he soon became a master of many skills. He was a huge animal lover and an avid hunter and fisherman from an early age. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brothers, Brian Metheny of Washington, PA, and Christopher Metheny and his wife, Laura, of Bruceton Mills; daughters: Taylor, Laura Leann, and Cydney; nephews and nieces: Austin, Chance, Shane, Landin, Tristen, Ava and Finley, all whom he enjoyed calling “stupid face or sweet face”; grandparents: Dale and Joann Wotring and Eloine Metheny of Bruceton Mills; and many cousins, aunts and uncles. Jeff was preceded in death by his grandpa, Junior Grant Metheny; his great grandmother, Ruby Michael; and his son, Collin. Due to the increased prevalence of the COVID virus, a public funeral and burial will be held at the Blooming Rose Cemetery in Friendsville, MD, Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at 2:30 p.m., with Pastor Steve Wotring officiating. Those in attendance are requested to wear masks and to practice social distancing. The Carl R.
