Obituary of Polly Broughman

Audrey Paulette "Polly" Broughman, 68, of Bruceton Mills, WV (Centenary community), passed away Monday, November 1, 2021, at her home. The daughter of the late Warren "Cy" and Mary Ethel Sell Reckart, she was born October 9, 1953, in Oakland, MD. Polly enjoyed doing crafts with her grandchildren and niece, playing in poker tournaments, and going to flea markets and scavenger hunts. She especially liked making biscuits and chicken gravy. She is survived by her husband, C.A. Broughman, Jr.; a son and his wife, Rob and Kathleen Reckart, of Bruceton Mills; three sisters: Peggy Sypolt and Nancy Reckart of Bruceton Mills and Brenda Turner of Kingwood, WV; a brother, Andrew Warren Reckart, of York, PA; two grandchildren, Mary E. and Mya Grace Reckart; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Polly was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Waugerman. A public visitation will be held at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, Wednesday, November 3, 2021, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., and Thursday, November 4, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service, with Pastor Craig Bolyard officiating. Burial will follow in the Parnell Cemetery, (Cuzzart) Bruceton Mills. Due to the prevalence of the COVID virus, those in attendance are requested to wear masks and to practice social distancing.
