Obituary of Vernon Dale Darnell

Please share a memory of Vernon to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Vernon Dale (Cedric) Darnell 97, of Pisgah, WV, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021, at his home. The son of the late Marion and Thelma Haines Darnell, he was born July 28, 1924, in Greenville, but he was a lifelong resident of Pisgah. Mr. Darnell was a retired member of the Laborer’s International Union of North America Local 379 and a member of the Pisgah United Methodist Church. Vernon is survived by a brother, Ron Darnell of Kissimmee, FL, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Darnell; two brothers, Edwin and Darrell Darnell; and a sister, Elsie Darnell Simpson. Due to the current COVID situation, a private graveside service will be held for the family at a later date in the Fairview Cemetery in Pisgah. Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, WV, will be providing funeral arrangements. We would like to give special thanks to the Hospice staff of Amedisys and to Rick Hormann and Mary Grace Jordan for all their help and kindness to Uncle Vernon. In lieu of flowers or donations, take time to visit an elderly family member or a shut-in friend. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.spearfuneralhome.net
