Linda Mae Black,
77, of Grantsville, MD, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2022, at UPMC Western Maryland in Cumberland, MD.
The daughter of the late Willard (Sam) and Velna Bailey Golden, she was born in Valley Bend in Randolph County, WV, on May 23, 1944.
Linda was a member of the Mountain Top Seventh Day Adventist Church in Oakland, MD. She worked in nursing homes as an LPN.
She is survived by two sons: Robert Rowe of Bethlehem, GA, and Joseph Black of Grantsville, Md; one daughter and her husband, Dawnna Beard and David, of Frankfort, IN; five grandchildren: Cody, Deanna, and Matt Rowe and Elijah and Grace Beard. Also surviving are three brothers: Curt (Bud), Johnny, and Marvin Golden; and four sisters: Ardith Lewis, Andalee Caton, Sylvia Green, and Mary Funk.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two spouses, Robert L. Rowe and John W. Black; a son, Michael Clyde Black; one daughter, Lois Michele Black; and three brothers: Melvin (Casey), Carroll and David Golden.
Visitation will be at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, WV, on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, from 11 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. funeral service with Pastor Matt Haire officiating. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Shady Grove Cemetery in Bruceton Mills. Due to the prevalence of the COVID virus, it is suggested that face masks be worn and social distancing be observed.
