Obituary of Donald W. Cale

Donald W. Cale, 87, of Albright (Centenary community), WV, died Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at Henry Clay Villa, Markleysburg, PA. The son of the late John W. Cale and Jessie Hebb Cale Metheny, he was born February 15, 1929, in Albright. Don was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and retired from General Motors. He is survived by three sons; Edward Metheny of Indiana, Gary Bishoff and his wife, Lenna of Oklahoma, and Timothy W. Cale of Columbus, OH; two daughters, Ruth Elaine Carlin of Baltimore, MD, and Dessie Marie Leonard of Bruceton Mills, WV; a sister, Betty Kelley of Albright; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Pearl Reckart Cale; stepfather, John Metheny; a daughter, Glenna Mae Innocenti; a brother, James Cale and three sisters: Rosella Jenkins, Ruth Adams and Mary Kelly. Family and friends will be received at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home, Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, WV, Friday, from 4:00-8:00 p.m., and Saturday, September 10, 2016, from 10:00 until the 11:00 a.m. service, with Pastor Mark Harris officiating. Burial will follow at the Centenary Cemetery, Bruceton Mills, with military honors provided by the Preston County VFW Posts, the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 977 Preston County, WV and WVANG Military Funeral Honors, Camp Dawson.
