Frank F. Wilhelm,
81, of Albright (Lenox community), passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at the home of Rodney and Mary Nieman, surrounded by his family. The son of the late
Franklin G. and Virginia Blanche Kisner Wilhelm, he was born on October 17, 1940, in Terra Alta, WV.
After graduating from Terra Alta High School in 1959, Frank worked for Western Union Telegraph company in Washington, D.C., and then transferred to Pittsburgh, PA. After 29 years at Western Union, he worked as a custodian for the Montour School District in Pittsburgh. He and his wife, Judy, lived in Pittsburgh for 35 years before retiring and moving to their farm in Lenox. He was a member of the Preston County and Marion County Beekeepers’ Associations and enjoyed giving presentations about bees to school children and 4-H groups. He enjoyed his retirement with Judy while working on the farm and tending to their cows and bees, and spending time with their grandchildren.
His family and friends were always a joy and a priority to him. Frank was known for always being willing to lend a hand to anyone with any projects, loved a good joke and to make people laugh, and was an instant friend of any child.
Frank is survived by his daughter and her husband, Kelly and Steve Andrews, of Alexandria, VA; a son and his wife, Jeff and Carla Wilhelm, of PA; four grandchildren: Spencer and Silas Andrews, Hailey (Ryan) Guthrie, and Heather (Hunter) Yusko; and two great-grandchildren, R.J. and Raegan Guthrie. Also surviving are one brother, Dan (Winnie) Wilhelm; a sister-in-law, Virginia Wilhelm; two brothers-in-law, Frank Bailey and Harlan Roy; and numerous nephews and nieces.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his loving wife, Judith Shafer Wilhelm, of 52 years; two brothers; and six sisters.
Family and friends will be received at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, WV, Tuesday, from 2- 4, and 6-8 p.m., and Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service with Pastor Charles Teets and Rev. Gary Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the Lenox Memorial (Lutheran) Cemetery, Lenox community.
