Gary H. Cale
83, died at home near Valley Point on property that has been in the Cale
family since 1843.
The son of the late Harland and Dorothy Beeghly Cale, he was born March 31, 1939, at the family home on what is now Cale Road, Bruceton Mills, WV.
Gary graduated from Bruceton High School, class of 1957, was a member of the Sugar Valley United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves at Ft. Benning, GA with his friend and classmate David Schnopp, and was a farmer and repaired televisions and radios.
He is survived by his grandchildren, Devin Cale and Merissa Cale; a great granddaughter, Hayden; sisters: Janice Sisler, Christine (Terry) Cuppett, and Cheryl (J. R.) Wolfe, all of Bruceton Mills; nieces & nephews, great nieces & great nephews; Michael Cale’s widow, Jerlyn (Eric) Stratten; his former wife, Eleanor Hiley Stewart; and good friends, Paul & Donna Kidwell.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his son, Michael, a brother, Mark Howard Cale, a sister, Joan McDougal, brothers-in-law, Ben Sisler & Dave McDougal, and nephew Ian McDougal.
Family and friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, WV, Friday, December 30, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service with Rev. Stanley Merrifield officiating.
