My family tried to go visit our family in WV most every summer when I was growing up. We always made a point to visit Uncle Howard and Aunt Elsie. There were many times that we also got to visit Cousin Elsie Jane, as well.
Later on, my husband and I took our toddler son to visit our WV family. It was the only time we made it to WV from CO, but we also enjoyed time with Uncle Howard, Aunt Elsie, and Elsie Jane. It was a very pleasant visit with delicious food prepared by Elsie Jane. The conversation and company was wonderful! I was able to keep some contact over the years by email, which was nice because we thought very well of Elsie Jane. She was a sweetheart and we believed from our delightful time with her that she loves Jesus.
I say 'loves' in the present tense, because I do believe that she is in her heavenly home with Jesus having an amazing time with nothing wrong anywhere and healed. No pain. No sorrow. What a joyful time for her, even as we are so sad to hear about her passing. We never got to make it to the reunions, but someday we will look forward to a heavenly reunion.

My name is Terri Wolfe Solomon I graduated in 91. Mrs Murphy was an amazing teacher of home economic which they don't even teach anymore. She was kind an patient an taught us alot of stuff we didn't think we would use but are thankful we had after graduation. Sorry for your loss. There were 4 of us Wolfe kids an she taught us all so thank u.

Elsie Jane and I were class mates in high school and I married her sister Betty Jean. Elsie Jane was an inspiration to me all of her life. She set a high standard and was a shining star for our lord and savior, Jesus Christ. May God bless her soul.

She was my teacher in the sixties. Home Econ. The first sewing project was an apron, some will not know what that is. In cooking we had to plan a meal with a specified amount of money. If only Kids had to still do this. Best part we got to eat it too. They weren't bad.

I was blessed to gain a wonderful “Aunt Jane”, when I married her nephew, Mike. I definitely was the truly blessed one! She was very special to me from the beginning. Aunt Jane was always so kind and thoughtful to me and our family. She genuinely cared about each of us, and prayed for us. This meant the world to me, especially when we went through such grief in the loss of our daughters. I always saw her love for everyone like that, too. It was as definitely God’s love given through her to so many. We will greatly miss her. We praise God that she is with Him now, and reunited with her loved ones there. Oh, what a wonderful reunion they’re having! Much love and many prayers to and for you, Cathy, Bobby, & Neal, & families. May the Lord comfort you greatly. Love you all.

So many memories with my Dear Aunt Jane. The Smith kids will always remember the corner she took on "2 wheels" from Bruceton to Kingwood. We told on her to Papap! He got a good laugh! Aunt Jane was full of love. So kind and caring. She loved Jesus and it showed in all she did and said. She blessed so many and will be greatly missed, I know. All my love and prayers to Cathy, Bob and Neal and all the family.

Jane Murphy was a great teacher I remember her telling us in school when you get married keep your self up for your mate because they will be working with women who have their make up on and look good. So thank you Mrs Murphy for that advice I have always tried to keep that in mind for my self

Oh my the memories of Mrs Murphy and her family. We all grew up together. Mrs Murphy was an absolute inspiration to me and many others. Cathy, Bob and Neil my heart goes out to you. Hope you all will be able to remember the joy in times of sadness.

Aunt Jane was so special to me. Always so kind, generous of her time, and helpful. I have many happy memories as a young boy visiting Bruceton Mills and spending time with cousins Cathy, Bob and Neal. Did we get in trouble? Always, but Jane helped us sort it out! And, she always had the best ice cream in her freezer to cool down with! The other thing that was special for me was to see Jane and my mom, Betty, together. Jane brought a twinkle to my mom’s eyes, and a playfulness to her being. Whether on a visit to Kingwood, Morgantown, Bruceton or Camp Galilee, Jane brought a sense of calm and control to the group. I really enjoyed seeing and staying at her home in 2016 when she helped me organize a memorial tribute for her sister (my mom, Betty) for the Preston County High School band and music department. I also planned an overnight trip to the Oregon coast when she visited in 2009, and along with my parents, we learned just how cold it can be at the NW coast in mid-November. It was beautiful nonetheless! I hold many other memories dearly and am honored that Jane was a part of my life and shared her wonderful self and spirit with me. With love, sending peace and happiness to the Murphy family and all who knew and were positively influenced by this wonderful, special lady!
