Obituary of Dorothy Jean Alexander

Please share a memory of Dorothy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dorothy Jean Alexander, It is with a sad heart that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Dorothy Jean Alexander (Nickolas), Monday, June 24th, 2024. Born on March 6, 1935, in Glendale WV. Dorothy married Camille Alexander in 1954 and moved to Bruceton Mills two years later. There, supporting her husband, Alexander Coal Company was established. Dorothy truly fit the saying that “Dynamite comes in small packages.” She was active in supporting the Lions Club with her husband, Camille. She was very active in her children's local bake sales by offering her specialty, delicious pies. In 1984, Dorothy helped build and establish the Catholic Church in Bruceton Mills. And, most importantly, for her children, grandchildren, family and friends, Dorothy always had an open door with a bed to offer, a meal prepared, and a cup of hot coffee poured. Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, Camille, her son, Dave, her twin sister Delores Fraas, her sister Patricia Sickle and her brother George Nickolas. Dorothy leaves behind a great legacy in her family members: Donna Alexander (wife of Dave Alexander), son Tom Alexander (wife Susan) and son Rob Alexander (wife Jodie). Daughter Michelle Casuccio (husband Alex). Grandchildren: Matthew Alexander (wife Corine with children Avery, Grant and Silas), Joseph Alexander (wife Amanda with children Mia, Soloman, Teagen and Abraham), Heather Dyer (husband Chris with child Kinsley), Hailey Alexander, Jason Alexander and Ryan Alexander (wife Shelby with children Leon, Mia and Luke), Justin Hale (wife Courtney with children Wyatt and Hunter). Catholic Mass and a memorial service will be held at Carl R Spear Funeral Home, Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, WV, Saturday, August 24th, 2024.
