Jerelene Agnes Peters Dixon, 72, of Terra Alta, WV, passed peacefully from this life to her eternal destiny and Heavenly Home on December 31, 2024, at WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV, surrounded by her loving family. The daughter of the late Isaac Richard Peters and Agnes Ann Hajny Peters and her foster parents, Walt and Sue Kisner, she was born June 6, 1952, in Newburg, WV. Jeri was a loving mother, grandmother, and aunt. She loved cooking, gardening with her flowers, eating out, and spending time with her family. Her primary role in life was taking care of others. In addition to this, she worked various jobs including food service, housekeeping and caregiving. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Terra Alta Moose for years and served her community as an election poll worker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Charlotte Metheny; her daughter, Kammi Dawn (Jamie-widower) Lantz; granddaughter, Megan Lantz; half-sister, Rose Mary Riggleman; and her best friend, Dorothy Parsons. Jeri is survived by her three daughters: Teresa Hovatter (Richard) of Morgantown, Tonya Dixon (Vince) of Kingwood, and Janet Lantz (Bobby) of Terra Alta; three half-brothers: Jerry Hajny of Kingwood, Gary Hajny of Bruceton Mills and Dan Peters of Alabama; two half-sisters, Mary Jane Moats of Howesville and Josephine Sypolt of Aurora; seven grandchildren: Kambra Dawn (Sam) Sisler, Trey Lantz, Brandon Lantz, Trever Dixon, and Hunter and Gauge Lantz: four great-grandchildren: and several foster siblings. Visitation for family and friends will be at the KAC Ministries’ Church at 305 S. Price St. in Kingwood, WV, on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the1:00 p.m. funeral service, with Pastor A. C. Mann officiating. Burial will follow at the Terra Alta Cemetery in Terra Alta.
