Obituary of William Jackson Shaffer
William Jackson Shaffer,
79, of Bruceton Mills, Glade Farms Community, WV, died Thursday, September 14, 2017, at his home where he had been receiving care from his family and WV Caring.
The son of the late William Cyrus and Edna Faye Deal Shaffer, he was born November 22, 1937, in Hazelton, WV.
Jack was a retired coal miner.
He is survived by his companion of 28 years, Martha E. Cramer; three sons and their spouses of Bruceton Mills: William Jackson Shaffer, Jr. and Nancy, Roger L. Shaffer and Connie, and Harold Stephen Shaffer and Christine; four daughters and their Spouses: Frances and Charles McCarty and Donna and George Landis of Terra Alta, WV, Jackie and Terry Blamble of Aurora, WV, and Tracey and Rusty Rosenberger of Bruceton Mills; two sisters, Mary Willis of Columbus, OH, and Joyce Galloway of Bruceton Mills; twenty-three grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia A. Shaffer in 1988; two brothers; and four sisters.
Family and friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, Friday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., and Saturday, September 16, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service in the funeral home with Rev. David Goodin officiating. Burial will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery, Bruceton Mills.
