I am so sad to hear Mary has passed on... I was going to stop by and see her a couple weeks ago and didn't. So, now I am sorry I didn't. I will regret that the rest of my life. I used to stop by and have long talks with her that I really enjoyed.
Mary was a highly respectable woman in my book. I had more respect for her than anyone in the whole area I grew up in. She was so nice to me when I was a kid, and in high school, and spent nights at her house with her daughters. She always treated me fantastic, and I can't say that about most people back then. I will truly miss her, and can't wait to see her again !
TO her children:
You kids had a great mother and you were blessed to have one like her. She supported me with my writing and the book I wrote about the community. She told me that ''every word' of m book was the truth, of which it surly was. When I interviewed many people before writing my book it was very interesting. However, I interviewed Mary ''after' I wrote my book and she assured me that I had done the right thing and that my book was total NON FICTION which meant a lot to me since I had tried so hard to be sure THAT EVERY WORD OF IT WAS TRUE. You will never know what she meant to me, and I am so sad to find out she is now gone and not in the lives of her kids and grand kids. My prayers are with all of you, and if you need me for anything I will do anything I can. Just let me know.
