My cousin, Paul and his wife, Judy, were more like my older brother and sister. Ones I always looked up to and loved with all my heart. When I was about 8 or 9, my mom had gotten me a Barbie Doll for Christmas. Knowing she could not afford the outfits to go along with it, Judy made me several dresses, slips, jackets and shoes - just for me! That was just who she was. She opened up her heart and let the Love of God flow through her – and all who got to know her, were changed forever.
It is for this reason, I want to dedicate Proverbs 31:10-31 to her. I know that when God inspired these words to be written in our Bible, He definitely had Judy in mind.
This is quoted from the Messianic Jewish Family Bible Tree of Life Version. (Paragraphing is done by me for ease of reading). So for Paul, ABCDE and her grandbabies:
A Woman of Valor
(10) "An accomplished woman, who can find? Her value is far beyond rubies. Her husband’s heart trusts in her, and he lacks nothing valuable. She brings him good and not harm all the days of her life.
She selects wool and flax and her hands work willingly. She is like merchant ships, bringing her sustenance from afar. She rises while it is still night and provides food for her household and portions for her servant girls. She considers a field and buys it.
From the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard. She girds herself with strength and invigorates her arms. She discerns that her business is good. Her lamp never goes out at night. She extends her hands to the spindle and her palm grasps the spinning wheel.
She spreads out her palms to the poor, and extends her hands to the needy. She is not afraid of snow for her house, for her whole household is clothed in scarlet wool. She makes her own luxurious coverings. Her clothing is fine linen and purple.
Her husband is respected at the city gates when he sits among the elders of the land. She makes linen garments and sells them and supplies sashes to the merchants.
Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the days to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom – a lesson of kindness is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children arise and bless her, her husband also praises her: “Many daughters have exceled, but you surpass them all.” Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears Adonai will be praised.
Give her the fruit of her hands. Let her deeds be her praise at the gates." (31)
…and my darling, “sister” Judy, we can hear your praise echoing from the gates all the way down here! Thank you for being such a mentor in my life’s journey. We’ll all be with you again as we await the soon coming Rapture and Jesus’ 2nd coming.
All praise and glory to Abba, our Father (Daddy in Hebrew) in Heaven!
Amen and with love,
Millie and all of “AuntAnna’s” family.
